""Hate Me Now" by Nas"
I just saw the video for this song and compared to the non-singing version I like the non-signing version better.

yeah i can get on board that
NaS dressed like Jesus carrying a cross... completely tasteless and hilarious.

It makes you really feel sorry for a guy who makes millions of dollars… I mean not only does he make hit records, but he’s dying for our sins. How could anyone “hate” NaS??

Ian Stewart

is currently using “Turn My Swag On” by Soulja Boy. One of the best awful rap songs I’ve ever heard.

Sorry, I posted before

I saw your updated Ian Stewart song

I noticed Tulo went from hip-hop to country......

….the LBS scene must be very different than the RealTree camoflague crowd in the Rox clubhouse. Just can’t picture Tulo in a duck blind at 6:15 on a old November morning.

Spilly

“Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor

how did I miss this one?

thanks

"Thriller"

was Spilly’s music last year. The 80s rule!

"The Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani

I miss that song, I loved hearing the crowd go “WHOOOHOOO, YEEEHOOOO” when he came up to bat back in 07.

I know!

The first game that I ever saw him play in was June of ‘07. I remember them playing Sweet Escape when he came up to bat, and I said to my dad, "Oh my God, Gwen Stefani! Spilborghs is the coolest player ever! He’s awesome! I like him."

And, here we are, two years later, he’s still the coolest guy ever. Except now I can say his name correctly.

Go michael jackson

he will be remembered in our hearts

Ian Stewart was using

“Day N Nite” by Kid Cudi at one point this season, as well.

Dude changes walk up songs too much.

he's trying to follow Tulo

who even had two at bat songs at the same time last year. The guy who’s in charge of the music would play “I’m a Flirt” and then if Tulo didn’t get a hit he’d play “Superstar”. Then after the DL, he went to “Gimme More” by Britney Spears, and then one more at the end which I’m not even sure what it was.

Those are all funny choices for an AB, too.

I was reminded by someone offline (who hopefully will sign up and post as well)

that Tulo also had “When I Grow Up” by the Pussycat Dolls

Thanks for this

I love seeing what different players are using for their walkup music.

We need more Rockies

batting to corny new wave songs

Alan Embree

Zac Brown Band’s: Chicken Fried

Ubaldo Jiminez

“Crank That” by Souljah Boy when he comes to bat.

Seriously?

Cool.

dex knows

get up is a great song for lead off batting. dex rules!

who knows the little music clip they play in the top of the 9th when the rockies are leading between outs? it’s like some crazy upbeat lord of the rings battle music after each out. kind of cool….

I believe it's

“Palladio” by Silent Nick.

The "O Fortuna" adaptation?
it’s like some crazy upbeat lord of the rings battle music after each out. kind of cool….

Do you mean the modernized arrangement of Orff’s “O Fortuna” section from Carmina Burana?

did you guys read the post?

it’s Palladio by Silent Nick

That's not the song I was asking about

which I should have added, I did not hear in the 9th. The last game I was at (the sat San Fran game) there definitely was an adaptation of the “O Fortuna” section of Carmina Burana.

Since skaisda compared it to “crazy upbeat Lord of the Rings” music, I thought he also was referring to the “O Fortuna” tune. I guess he could have meant the linked tune, but it doesn’t sound very LOTRish to me, and I still wonder about that version of CB.

that's Street's into music, Hate Me Now by Nas
Yes!

You’re good. That’s it. Hmm, maybe I did hear it in the 9th after all.

PSSSSST THAT'S IN THE POST TOO

grumblegrumble damn kids and their not reading the post and their flying cars and robot servants grumblegrumblegrumble

;-)

Does anyone know the song that they used for the clip show before the fireworks?

Thank you.

I think it's

Kevin Rudolf – “Let It Rock”

How about

what they used to replace the riffs of Rocky Mountain Way when the Rockies get an out in the top of the 9th inning? Is it just a generic sports noise?

Anybody know what Barmes' and Iannetta's songs are?

I really like them both but have no clue of the titles.

Barmes USED to be

“Back where I come from” by Kenny Chesney, but he’s changed it a bit this season.

No clue with Iannetta. I know at one point he was “I can’t dance” by Genesis.

I know that earlier in the season,

Barmes was using “Fistful of Steel” by Rage Against the Machine. However, I haven’t been to a game since opening weekend, so it might have changed.

It is now

“Eight Second Ride” by Jake Owen

I got all giddy for a second

thinking it was a remake of “Hooked on an 8 second ride” by Chris LeDoux

:-(

I've added youtube links
Stewie

Tonight Ian Stewart walked out to “Turn My Swag On” by Soulja Boy. Also, anyone know what song they play at the end of ballgames this year? It’s stuck in my head but I have no idea what it is

The best ever

Was Jeff Baker last year. G’z and Hustlaz by Snoop Dogg. Nothing can beat that funky baseline. Too bad he just has an organ in the chi.

i still love your avatar

also at one point last season Bake was using “Handlebars” by The Flobots, but it was like the boringest quietest part of the song (the very beginning with just the violin plucking, rather than the “I can guide a missile by satellite” part)

Didn’t Baker have the Seinfeld theme song at one time?

Two things:

one: Dexter used two different songs tonight. One was “get up”, but I’m not sure what the other one was.

Two: Does anyone know the music that they use before the game? Like, when they have the little clip show? I think one of the lines is “We’re going out tonight” but I’m terrible at those types of things.

Nickelback

Burn it to the ground.

This team will never win

if they keep featuring Nickelback music

I just can't argue with that mustache
I'd agree too

except the biggest offender is starting in the All Star Game, so…

Matt Holliday had creed,

Bradley has nickleback, so maybe the crappier the song, the better the player. I don’t know if i would trade winning for listening to creed and nickelback though.

Holliday also had

Switchfoot and Todd Agnew

I think he has Switchfoot now, too.

It was driving me crazy when I was at one of the A’s games, because I totally recognized it but couldn’t place it.

Its definitely a tough spot to be in

Do we win while suffering or do we lose through luxury?

We should try to validate this empirically by getting Helton to bat to “Who let the dogs out”. If a 20 game win streak ensues then we can definitely confirm the positive relationship between wins and crappiness of music…

this needs to be done.

i am desperate enough to mandate hootie and the blowfish on ianetta for at least september. and in the future i see the jonas bros. hanging over the head of the week’s worst scuffler. you do NOT want to get that office call from don baylor…

"Chris

You are now in Air Supply territory with your bat"

You are right…that is a conversation NO batter wants to have.

it would have a nice peer effect, too...

“hey man, did you hear about atkins?”
“no… where is he?”
“he’s in with tracy right now. i guess they’re putting him on jack johnson status.”
“geez. …um, wanna do some extra BP today?”
“uh huh.”

The mustache recognizes and thanks you for your continued support.
Ryan Speier Wins This Contest In Spades

He warmed up on the mound to Tool’s “Schism”.

I can’t tell you how much I respect him for that.

Hellz yeah....

….DITTO THIS POST

Juan Rincon's Warm up music

was Ballroom Blitz by The Sweet

No one has Iannetta’s?

Dex had a MJ song as an at-bat entrance

Tuesday, they played a Michael Jackson song for Dex though I forgot what it was called.

Don't Stop Till You Get Enough
the also play it during rallies
"Keep On With The Force Don't Stop...."
What about

heyyyyyyyyy hey baby I wanna knowowowow will you be my girl

How

did that become the tune played after “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch? I’m sick of hearing it.

It's popular at a lot of sporting events, because crowds love singing along.
Well, the Red Sox play "Sweet Caroline"

We deserve another song too

I vote Rocky Mountain High by John Denver
or Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh
I wonder why they stopped playing that

in the 9th when up.

Great song.........by Bruce Channel from the early '60's
One "break song" that they play in Coors frequently

that I think is both odd and obscure…but one I loved…from when I was in college…and that was a long time ago…..is See Chameleon by Slade

er

also better know by it’s actual name….“Run Runaway”

stopid no edditting buttun

Way too much country

Gross

Too much country???

There is no such thing.

That's like having too much fun, or having too much money, or a car too fast

You can never have too much country

-1000000000000000000000000000

No, there is definatly too much country and I agree with Digshot, it makes me sick hearing all of it at the rockies games.

Well..

I agree with you

did i hear

marquis – all along the watchtower; ianetta – thats the way i like it (tho i think his song is different every time? this is one i heard on 7/12); daley – get back

and also heard randomly “boom boom boom (let me hear you say WAY-O WAY-O)” before some at bats instead of the batter’s regular music…

Hey-O!!

Usually after someone gets a double/RBI.

fowler and stewart

both have new music – dont know what they are but i liked the old ones and wish they’d go back :(
ianetta’s has been a plain melody line with no drums – again, dont know what it is. im not much help.

Alright

We’ve added EYJ

Can anyone tell me what Ian Stewart’s New-New-NEW music is?

Betencourt

is “Black Betty” by Ram Jam

Have you heard that regularly with him?

or just once? Black Betty seems like just a good “we play songs between innings” type of song.

I think that's it...Black Betty is a great between innings song.
I heard it Tuesday night

first game I think I’ve seen Betencourt in when I’ve gone to the game.

left out an important note/line

so….I have no idea to your question. Could be just in between innings…could be Betencourt’s music….but it WAS playing when he warmed up.

Also, this on one stood out

one of the Relievers, I think it was Herges had this one playing during his warm up

Johnny Cash: God’s gonna Cut ’em down

That was Beimel.

It definitely worked for the moment.

Beimel

I couldn’t recall which reliever…but it stood out, when it was played. It’s a very slow version of that VERY old song.

Pretty sure it was Beimel.

Pretty sure it was NOT this version.

no it was Cash, that much I do know

So it was the Cash version and Beimel

see…group effort pays off!

I heard him warming up to

Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega

Ianetta - Genesis

Last year Chris had Genesis’ “I Can’t Dance” at one point at least.

Yeah I remember that

I want to try and tack down THIS year’s music, but i have no clue what it was

Oh Jesus, did he?

Sports dudes have such dreadful taste in music sometimes. He’s a young man for crying out loud!

hehe

I actually LIKE Genesis…all eras, but that song is one of the only ones I can’t stand! Go figure. So yeah, agree about the sports dudes bad taste sometimes comment.

Chris Iannetta

I have an answer to his at bat song mystery! I dont know how to edit the post I am new here. But here is the link.

Song is by Tom Morello http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EV_w_B-xg2Y&feature=PlayList&p=6CAAF1C4D1271EB9&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=24

You're now officially awesome
You know what song I don't hear at the ballpark any more?

Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel. Why is that?

That’s right, a Dante Bichette reference for my first ever post. I feel good about this.

maybe they retired this out of reverence
You know, I have a sudden urge to post at length about other crappy bands with crappy songs who are rubbish

In particular prog dinosaur abominations. Who should I start with, I wonder…?

Meh.

Too much country/hip hop and not enough hard rock/metal for my tastes. You don’t hear too many players choosing something heavy for their music.

I'd probably bat to

my own summer (shove it).

I recall

ESPN or somebody once did a survey on intro songs, and found that Ozzy’s “Crazy Train” had overwhelmingly the best stats. At the time, I recally Larry Walker and Chipper Jones, but there were a few other big dogs.

Favorite

Anyone have a favorite song being used this year? The past couple of years I have been partial to Hawpe’s, Rockstar myself.

I do love Beimel's choice of Johnny Cash

When I first heard it in the stadium, I was confused; but it fits so well, and has to unnerve some young hitters.

Get up outta bed

turn my swag ooooon

Fowler and Stewart

Our two frequent song changers are now using these…

Dex: Run This Town by Jay-Z

Stew: All The Above by Maino ft. T-Pain

thank you
I've got a list of 20 of the Rockies current entrance songs

Should I post it and if so where?

Is it different than what we already have in the main post?
It's simiar, but longer

Has guys like CarGo, Yorvit, Q, etc.

Provided it's up to date for the 2009 season

post the guys we don’t already have listed

Thanks!

Here are the guys I have that aren't already on the main list

Carlos Gonzalez: Abusadora by Wisin y Yandel

Omar Quintanilla: I’m So Paid by Akon & Lil’ Wayne

Yorvit Torrealba: Somos de Calle by Daddy Yankee

Jason Marquis: All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix

Matt Daley: Gettin’ Jiggy With It by Will Smith

Josh Fogg: Slow Ride by Foghat

Rafael Betancourt: Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega OR Black Betty by Ram Jam (I’ve heard both)

Joe Beimel: God’s Gonna Cut You Down by Johnny Cash

Does Matt Daley seriously

play Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It? Cause if so my respect for him jumped by about 100% .

We're a bit tentative on Raffy's music

I don’t know if it’s just generic “in between innings” music or if it’s actually his music.

Also thanks for this

I don’t listen to rap and I always have a bit of trouble with the latin music. I know a lot of latin players use Daddy Yankee, but I don’t know the songs.

I didn't see the link for it above...

Here’s the version of Hey Baby played during the 7th Inning Stretch:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0GIaJuan9Y

how on earth did I miss this one
Because that song deserves to die
I like having our own "Sweet Caroline"

without having to be godless Red Sox fans

But there has to be something better...

right?

such as......?

Mind you, we need to not be Godless and retain our souls

Eh, I really can't come up with anything

but that song still just annoys me for some reason :-/

Just about any song ever written is better than Hey Baby

At the football team I support over here, the song was adopted by certain parts of the crowd when our former chairman was trying to sell, and move, the club. “Hey, Charles Koppel, I wanna know why you’re such a c***”

The original Bruce Chanel song is awesome.

I will hear no disputes to this either.

...well I like it
going way back - curtis leskanic used

something by the doors – Light my fire I think, but it doesn’t really matter..

the doors – nice, very nice…

feel free to talk about past AB music under this post

I kind of miss Todd Helton having more badass music

I miss Larry Walker and his Crazy Train
larry walker could have played anything

and i’d have loved it

Correction

EY2’s song is by Lil Wayne and Birdman, not Soulja Boy and Birdman.

hm...

I’m wondering who edited the fanpost….

But good catch, I’d never have gotten it

missing the home run song

what is it, and why is it so gay? fans are excited about the home run so they applaud, but that song makes everybody clap in a slow rhythmic unison and it sounds so gay lol. fans should be going crazy during a home run that has some badass backing music not clapping to the beat of a technopop song that sounds like it should be a theme for a childrens tv show.

That song would be:

Vengaboys – We Like To Party

Worst song EVAR.

I know it will probably never leave because of how hot the team has been since they started playing it after homers and wins, but seriously, it is way too over played. After working at Six Flags the summer with the old guy dancing to that crap, I am so tired of it.

this is a fair point

entirely

Very understandable
+1 for the info

-1 for making me making me click on that link out of curiosity, even when i already knew i was going to regret it :)

Did I just hear

Sugar Hill Gang – Apache as Clint Barmes was walking up to bat???

Yes you did

I was at the game…and it was very much this song.

was it his song, or was it as a result of Atkins' single?

If we hear it in a subsequent game, we’ll put it up

Rage Against the Machine?

I was at the game tonight and he came up to a Rage song. Not sure what it was called, but if I’m not mistaken he’s used it in the past.

Fistful of Steel is the name.
I think these songs end up being late-inning-keep-the-energy-up type songs

rather then the player’s normal AB music.

yeah

hard to tell if they are “the last guy just had a big hit so this is celebration music” or walk up music

They played the Rage song during Barmes's first at-bat

and it didn’t follow a hit.

If anyone can corroborate from another game, we'll totally update
OK Barmes' AB music is totally something by Rage

I just don’t know what it is

I thoroughly enjoyed this fanpost!

Thanks for making the list. I knew a few of their songs but have been curious about most since I wasn’t able to make it to a game this year.

thanks!

glad you enjoy it!
