""Hate Me Now" by Nas"
I just saw the video for this song and compared to the non-singing version I like the non-signing version better.
Rocktober 2007 - July 4, 2009
yeah i can get on board that
Andrew Martin - July 4, 2009
NaS dressed like Jesus carrying a cross... completely tasteless and hilarious.
It makes you really feel sorry for a guy who makes millions of dollars… I mean not only does he make hit records, but he’s dying for our sins. How could anyone “hate” NaS??
Crank White - July 6, 2009
Ian Stewart
is currently using “Turn My Swag On” by Soulja Boy. One of the best awful rap songs I’ve ever heard.
Franchise26 - July 4, 2009
Sorry, I posted before
I saw your updated Ian Stewart song
DeRock - July 6, 2009
I noticed Tulo went from hip-hop to country......
….the LBS scene must be very different than the RealTree camoflague crowd in the Rox clubhouse. Just can’t picture Tulo in a duck blind at 6:15 on a old November morning.
TulsaDriller - July 4, 2009
Spilly
“Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor
Rockie4Ever - July 4, 2009
how did I miss this one?
thanks
Andrew Martin - July 4, 2009
"Thriller"
was Spilly’s music last year. The 80s rule!
J. Henry Waugh - July 9, 2009
"The Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani
I miss that song, I loved hearing the crowd go “WHOOOHOOO, YEEEHOOOO” when he came up to bat back in 07.
Rocktober 2007 - July 13, 2009
I know!
The first game that I ever saw him play in was June of ‘07. I remember them playing Sweet Escape when he came up to bat, and I said to my dad, "Oh my God, Gwen Stefani! Spilborghs is the coolest player ever! He’s awesome! I like him."
And, here we are, two years later, he’s still the coolest guy ever. Except now I can say his name correctly.
Rockie4Ever - July 13, 2009
Go michael jackson
he will be remembered in our hearts
Kittiesroxursox - September 3, 2009
Ian Stewart was using
“Day N Nite” by Kid Cudi at one point this season, as well.
Dude changes walk up songs too much.
Bryan Kilpatrick - July 5, 2009
he's trying to follow Tulo
who even had two at bat songs at the same time last year. The guy who’s in charge of the music would play “I’m a Flirt” and then if Tulo didn’t get a hit he’d play “Superstar”. Then after the DL, he went to “Gimme More” by Britney Spears, and then one more at the end which I’m not even sure what it was.
Those are all funny choices for an AB, too.
Rockie4Ever - July 5, 2009
I was reminded by someone offline (who hopefully will sign up and post as well)
that Tulo also had “When I Grow Up” by the Pussycat Dolls
Andrew Martin - July 7, 2009
Thanks for this
I love seeing what different players are using for their walkup music.
kishi - July 5, 2009
We need more Rockies
batting to corny new wave songs
Resolution - July 5, 2009
Alan Embree
Zac Brown Band’s: Chicken Fried
jrockies - July 5, 2009
Ubaldo Jiminez
“Crank That” by Souljah Boy when he comes to bat.
Crank White - July 5, 2009
Seriously?
Cool.
Rockie4Ever - July 6, 2009
dex knows
get up is a great song for lead off batting. dex rules!
who knows the little music clip they play in the top of the 9th when the rockies are leading between outs? it’s like some crazy upbeat lord of the rings battle music after each out. kind of cool….
skaistda - July 6, 2009
I believe it's
“Palladio” by Silent Nick.
Bryan Kilpatrick - July 6, 2009
The "O Fortuna" adaptation?
Do you mean the modernized arrangement of Orff’s “O Fortuna” section from Carmina Burana?
FooMan - August 27, 2009
did you guys read the post?
it’s Palladio by Silent Nick
Andrew Martin - August 27, 2009
That's not the song I was asking about
which I should have added, I did not hear in the 9th. The last game I was at (the sat San Fran game) there definitely was an adaptation of the “O Fortuna” section of Carmina Burana.
Since skaisda compared it to “crazy upbeat Lord of the Rings” music, I thought he also was referring to the “O Fortuna” tune. I guess he could have meant the linked tune, but it doesn’t sound very LOTRish to me, and I still wonder about that version of CB.
FooMan - August 27, 2009
that's Street's into music, Hate Me Now by Nas
Andrew Martin - August 27, 2009
Yes!
You’re good. That’s it. Hmm, maybe I did hear it in the 9th after all.
FooMan - August 27, 2009
PSSSSST THAT'S IN THE POST TOO
grumblegrumble damn kids and their not reading the post and their flying cars and robot servants grumblegrumblegrumble
;-)
Andrew Martin - August 27, 2009
Does anyone know the song that they used for the clip show before the fireworks?
Thank you.
Rockie4Ever - July 6, 2009
I think it's
Kevin Rudolf – “Let It Rock”
Andrew Martin - July 6, 2009
How about
what they used to replace the riffs of Rocky Mountain Way when the Rockies get an out in the top of the 9th inning? Is it just a generic sports noise?
oo_nrb - July 6, 2009
Anybody know what Barmes' and Iannetta's songs are?
I really like them both but have no clue of the titles.
free7694 - July 6, 2009
Barmes USED to be
“Back where I come from” by Kenny Chesney, but he’s changed it a bit this season.
No clue with Iannetta. I know at one point he was “I can’t dance” by Genesis.
Andrew Martin - July 6, 2009
I know that earlier in the season,
Barmes was using “Fistful of Steel” by Rage Against the Machine. However, I haven’t been to a game since opening weekend, so it might have changed.
Bryan Kilpatrick - July 6, 2009
It is now
“Eight Second Ride” by Jake Owen
Rockie4Ever - July 6, 2009
I got all giddy for a second
thinking it was a remake of “Hooked on an 8 second ride” by Chris LeDoux
:-(
Andrew Martin - July 7, 2009

Stewie
Tonight Ian Stewart walked out to “Turn My Swag On” by Soulja Boy. Also, anyone know what song they play at the end of ballgames this year? It’s stuck in my head but I have no idea what it is
DeRock - July 6, 2009
The best ever
Was Jeff Baker last year. G’z and Hustlaz by Snoop Dogg. Nothing can beat that funky baseline. Too bad he just has an organ in the chi.
303buff - July 6, 2009
i still love your avatar
also at one point last season Bake was using “Handlebars” by The Flobots, but it was like the boringest quietest part of the song (the very beginning with just the violin plucking, rather than the “I can guide a missile by satellite” part)
Andrew Martin - July 7, 2009
Didn’t Baker have the Seinfeld theme song at one time?
prettyinpurple - July 16, 2009
Two things:
one: Dexter used two different songs tonight. One was “get up”, but I’m not sure what the other one was.
Two: Does anyone know the music that they use before the game? Like, when they have the little clip show? I think one of the lines is “We’re going out tonight” but I’m terrible at those types of things.
Rockie4Ever - July 6, 2009
Nickelback

Andrew Martin - July 7, 2009
I'd agree too
except the biggest offender is starting in the All Star Game, so…
Andrew T. Fisher - July 7, 2009
Matt Holliday had creed,
Bradley has nickleback, so maybe the crappier the song, the better the player. I don’t know if i would trade winning for listening to creed and nickelback though.
303buff - July 7, 2009
Holliday also had
Switchfoot and Todd Agnew
Andrew Martin - July 7, 2009
I think he has Switchfoot now, too.
It was driving me crazy when I was at one of the A’s games, because I totally recognized it but couldn’t place it.
holly96 - July 10, 2009
Its definitely a tough spot to be in
Do we win while suffering or do we lose through luxury?
We should try to validate this empirically by getting Helton to bat to “Who let the dogs out”. If a 20 game win streak ensues then we can definitely confirm the positive relationship between wins and crappiness of music…
Resolution - July 8, 2009
this needs to be done.
i am desperate enough to mandate hootie and the blowfish on ianetta for at least september. and in the future i see the jonas bros. hanging over the head of the week’s worst scuffler. you do NOT want to get that office call from don baylor…

How
did that become the tune played after “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch? I’m sick of hearing it.
J. Henry Waugh - July 10, 2009
It's popular at a lot of sporting events, because crowds love singing along.
holly96 - July 10, 2009
Well, the Red Sox play "Sweet Caroline"
We deserve another song too
Andrew Martin - July 13, 2009
I vote Rocky Mountain High by John Denver
squalene203 - August 27, 2009
or Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh
Andrew Martin - August 27, 2009
I wonder why they stopped playing that
in the 9th when up.
FooMan - August 27, 2009
Great song.........by Bruce Channel from the early '60's

did i hear
marquis – all along the watchtower; ianetta – thats the way i like it (tho i think his song is different every time? this is one i heard on 7/12); daley – get back
and also heard randomly “boom boom boom (let me hear you say WAY-O WAY-O)” before some at bats instead of the batter’s regular music…

Alright
We’ve added EYJ
Can anyone tell me what Ian Stewart’s New-New-NEW music is?
Andrew Martin - August 27, 2009
Betencourt
is “Black Betty” by Ram Jam
Redhawk - August 27, 2009
Have you heard that regularly with him?
or just once? Black Betty seems like just a good “we play songs between innings” type of song.
Andrew Martin - August 27, 2009
I think that's it...Black Betty is a great between innings song.
Jeff Aberle - August 27, 2009
I heard it Tuesday night
first game I think I’ve seen Betencourt in when I’ve gone to the game.
Redhawk - August 27, 2009
left out an important note/line
so….I have no idea to your question. Could be just in between innings…could be Betencourt’s music….but it WAS playing when he warmed up.
Redhawk - August 27, 2009
Also, this on one stood out
one of the Relievers, I think it was Herges had this one playing during his warm up
Johnny Cash: God’s gonna Cut ’em down
Redhawk - August 27, 2009
That was Beimel.
It definitely worked for the moment.
SidewaysBee - August 27, 2009
Beimel
I couldn’t recall which reliever…but it stood out, when it was played. It’s a very slow version of that VERY old song.
Redhawk - August 27, 2009
Pretty sure it was Beimel.
Pretty sure it was NOT this version.
PioneerSkies - August 27, 2009
no it was Cash, that much I do know
So it was the Cash version and Beimel
see…group effort pays off!
Redhawk - August 27, 2009

You know, I have a sudden urge to post at length about other crappy bands with crappy songs who are rubbish
In particular prog dinosaur abominations. Who should I start with, I wonder…?
biondino - August 27, 2009
Meh.
Too much country/hip hop and not enough hard rock/metal for my tastes. You don’t hear too many players choosing something heavy for their music.

I'd probably bat to

Favorite
Anyone have a favorite song being used this year? The past couple of years I have been partial to Hawpe’s, Rockstar myself.
Tulo2 - August 27, 2009
I do love Beimel's choice of Johnny Cash

Carlos Gonzalez: Abusadora by Wisin y Yandel
Omar Quintanilla: I’m So Paid by Akon & Lil’ Wayne
Yorvit Torrealba: Somos de Calle by Daddy Yankee
Jason Marquis: All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix
Matt Daley: Gettin’ Jiggy With It by Will Smith
Josh Fogg: Slow Ride by Foghat
Rafael Betancourt: Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega OR Black Betty by Ram Jam (I’ve heard both)
Joe Beimel: God’s Gonna Cut You Down by Johnny Cash

Does Matt Daley seriously
play Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It? Cause if so my respect for him jumped by about 100% .
oo_nrb - August 29, 2009
We're a bit tentative on Raffy's music
I don’t know if it’s just generic “in between innings” music or if it’s actually his music.
Andrew Martin - August 29, 2009
Also thanks for this
I don’t listen to rap and I always have a bit of trouble with the latin music. I know a lot of latin players use Daddy Yankee, but I don’t know the songs.

ShadowPenguin - August 28, 2009
Just about any song ever written is better than Hey Baby
At the football team I support over here, the song was adopted by certain parts of the crowd when our former chairman was trying to sell, and move, the club. “Hey, Charles Koppel, I wanna know why you’re such a c***”

missing the home run song
what is it, and why is it so gay? fans are excited about the home run so they applaud, but that song makes everybody clap in a slow rhythmic unison and it sounds so gay lol. fans should be going crazy during a home run that has some badass backing music not clapping to the beat of a technopop song that sounds like it should be a theme for a childrens tv show.
Jay Doubleyou - August 30, 2009
That song would be:
Vengaboys – We Like To Party
jrockies - August 30, 2009
Worst song EVAR.
I know it will probably never leave because of how hot the team has been since they started playing it after homers and wins, but seriously, it is way too over played. After working at Six Flags the summer with the old guy dancing to that crap, I am so tired of it.
jcn7vc - September 3, 2009

PioneerSkies - September 1, 2009

I was at the game…and it was very much this song.
Redhawk - September 1, 2009
was it his song, or was it as a result of Atkins' single?
If we hear it in a subsequent game, we’ll put it up
Andrew Martin - September 1, 2009
Rage Against the Machine?
I was at the game tonight and he came up to a Rage song. Not sure what it was called, but if I’m not mistaken he’s used it in the past.
tulorox2 - September 2, 2009
Fistful of Steel is the name.
tulorox2 - September 2, 2009
I think these songs end up being late-inning-keep-the-energy-up type songs
rather then the player’s normal AB music.
Andrew Martin - September 3, 2009
yeah
hard to tell if they are “the last guy just had a big hit so this is celebration music” or walk up music
Redhawk - September 3, 2009
They played the Rage song during Barmes's first at-bat
